Aptitude for Soccer Founder and Director, Scott McCulloch spent over five years in the United States as a Soccer Scholarship recipient.
Scott played and studied at William Carey University who are consistently found in the top 20 NAIA National Rankings.
When asked about his experience he said, “I could sit here and talk to you about adapting to full-time football and graduating. However, from everything I have achieved in the states, the valuable ‘Life Experience’ is by far the most significant. It’s a big world out there and ‘living it’ is a totally different experience to reading about it or from seeing it in pictures. Without a doubt it totally changed my life for the better and I now have many contacts in the USA, should I wish to pursue my career further there. Alongside this I now have numerous friends all over the world due to the cultural diversity of our squad.” Without pursuing my dream of receiving a football scholarship(soccer scholarship) I am not sure where I would be today.
Currently, Scott dedicates his spare time to assist the Performance Analyst team at St Mirren Football Club, working closely with Head of Youth Development – Davie Longwell. Scott said, “I love it! Not only does it give me a great opportunity to speak to the players at St Mirren about their opportunities, but also when I travel with the team to other clubs I get the opportunity to create awareness about USA Soccer Scholarships. Unfortunately an alarming percentage of players are released from youth academies gradually dropping down the leagues and eventually end up out the game altogether, with little or no education. It’s almost like a ‘Black Hole’. I believe this needs addressed. The USA College route provides another platform to develop your future, with four years full-time football while working towards a degree of your choice.”
Apply now and Scott will personally contact you within the next 48hours and discuss your personal pathway and next step to achieving a football Scholarship.
